How Blessings Can Overtake You
Deut. 28:1 – “…to observe carefully all his commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above the nations of the earth.”
“The purpose of the other voices and things is to cause you to be unfruitful. Make sure my voice is the one you’re discerning to hear,” says the Lord. Don’t be pushed or rushed to obey another voice. Make your decisions based on the voice of the Lord and confirm it in His word.
Obeying his voice, and being diligent to do so, is what brings the blessings. Pay attention to the word and voice of the Master, and you will be motivated by the right things. You will have the right things at the right time.
Sow your seed, and do not consider the need. Your seed will grow bigger than the need could ever be. Do not be need-minded, but seed-minded, and you will be motivated by the voice of God. Stay diligent in your giving and the blessing will manifest. Don’t be robbed of God’s best for you.
You have to be diligent in obeying his voice. Many “other things” (Mark 4:19) will try to creep in and cause you to stumble or become offended, trying to sidetrack you from the voice of God.
The purpose of being diligent in hearing his voice is to obey and observe his commands. Stop whatever is getting in the way of His commands (His word) in your life, and He will set you high above every situation.
Take time to observe carefully His word. It means abundant life and victory for you and me. God’s voice is primary -- His written word. When we are in His word, we have a better chance of making the right decision.
Sensitively to the voice of the Holy Spirit is the key to victory for the Christian. Without His written word and His leading, we are subject to be deceived in key decisions about money, relationships and life, in general.
Deut. 28:2 – “…and all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.” Obedient Christians are the ones in whom the blessings of God manifest. Seek to hear. Observe, then obey, and the blessings of God will overtake you. Now is the time to be diligent in doing exactly what the Lord has told you to do. When the pressure is on in some area of life -- family, finances or health -- is when you need to keep standing and have blessings overtake you.
